Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026

Operation Hometown Heroes (“we,” “us”) respects the privacy of the veterans, service members, families, sponsors, and supporters who use this website. This notice explains what we collect and how we handle it.

Information you give us

We collect only what you choose to send through our forms or by email:

  • Assistance requests: your name, city, county, and state, phone number, email address, and the message you write. If you are later asked to complete our application, you may share additional documents with a board member directly.
  • Newsletter signups: your email address.
  • Vetstock vendor and sponsor forms: your name, business or organization, point of contact, email address, and any message.
  • Sponsor inquiries: your name, business or organization (optional), email address, preferred level, and any message.
  • Email: anything you send to contact@operationhometownheroes.org.

Please do not put Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or medical details in website forms.

Donations and sponsorship payments

Donations and sponsorship payments are made through Zeffy, a separate donation platform. When you give, you enter your payment details on Zeffy’s site, not ours, and we never see or store your card number. Zeffy’s own privacy policy governs what it collects. We receive your name, contact information, and gift details so we can thank you and keep our records.

How we use it

  • To respond to your request and decide how we can help.
  • To send the newsletter you signed up for. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also write to us to be removed.
  • To follow up on sponsor inquiries and recognize sponsors.
  • To keep our records, and where the law requires it.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Form submissions are delivered by email to a small number of our board members and volunteers. Information in assistance requests is used only to evaluate and respond to the request. We may share information with service providers that help us run the website and email (for example, our web host, form-processing service, and Zeffy), and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. If we add basic, privacy-friendly visitor statistics, they will count visits without following individuals across other sites.

Sponsor recognition

If you become a sponsor, we may publish your name or business name and logo on our website, social media, and materials, as described in the sponsorship levels.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including an encrypted (HTTPS) connection on this website, and we limit who can see submitted information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete the information you sent us, or to remove you from our mailing list, by writing to contact@operationhometownheroes.org.

Changes

If we change this notice, we will post the updated version on this page and update the date above.
